Bingo Number Nicknames – 79 & 80

The traditional nickname for the bingo number 79 is “one more time”. We can’t find any reference to anything in particular here, except for the fact that it is a sort of a rhyme. 80 has a few possible calls – “eight and blank”, “blind eighty”, or more controversially “Gandhi’s breakfast”.
“Eight and blank” is fairly obvious, and “blind eighty” is simply a reference to the number being on its own, with no other numbers after it (eg it isn’t 81, 82, 83 etc.). “Gandhi’s breakfast” comes from the idea that an overhead shot of Gandhi cross-legged eating his breakfast from a plate, may look like the figures 8 and 0.
